Update from Threads

April 21, 2009 by Tara Lacher

Erin F. from Threads, the University of Wisconsin-Stout fiber arts group, e-mailed me to let me know that they continued my pink scarf project again this winter and donated another 150 scarves to the University of Minnesota Cancer Treatment Center.  Also, they have another 60 scarves that are waiting to be shipped.

Erin ended by saying “Thank you again for the opportunity to participate in such a wonderful community service activity.”

Thank you, Threads, for all you’ve done for My Pink Scarf Inc.  I appreciate it!

    Hi Tara,

Thank you for presenting at the Quota International of Bismarck-Mandan special program meeting recently. You have inspired us all with your project and as a club we are comparing notes on the progress of our pink scarves. This is my first experience knitting (I’m using a loom!) and find it so relaxing and fullfilling. I am on scarf # 3 right now and we all plan to knit or crochet away next week as we are traveling to Illinois for a District Quota Conference. I’ll let you know how many scarves are made during the 24 hour round trip!

    Warmest regards,
    June

    Hi Tara,

Well, as promised, we are happy to report that Quota International of Bismarck-Mandan had about 6 scarves knitted while traveling to Illinois early this month. We were encouraged by the other members attending the District Conference from 7 other clubs to demonstrate and explain what we were doing and why. I think we will have other Quota Clubs in the Mid-west knitting for you, too. Pictures will follow shortly!

We’d like to have you return to one of our meetings this fall so we can present these and many more to you!

    Kind regards,
    June
